Below is a list of activist hedge funds / investors. Please add to or
edit it as follows:

(1) Indicate which ones aren't actually *activist* hedge funds --
defined as hedge funds who acquire a 5%+ equity stake in a public company AND
THEN try to get involved with the board (and/or rally other
shareholders) in order to force certain changes in management or
operations. e.g., I'm not sure about D.E. Shaw -- as far as I know,
they are purely quantitative model-driven traders.

(2) Where missing, fill in name of principal who runs the fund.

Hello plum209-ga,

I'm the researcher who developed the list. I would love to follow on
with the rest of the research but the price you've set is not
consistent with the amount of work that will be involved to complete
your assignment.

You're looking for multiple pieces of research on 81 companies. I know
from the work in developing the list that this information is not
readily available and the researcher will have to locate the website
for each hedge fund and then search the site for the information you
need. This is very time consuming. (Perhaps you know of a quicker way
to gather this information. If so, please share the resources you
think are appropriate.)

Researchers get 75 per cent of the price posted for the question. In
this case that comes to less than $17 for multiple items on a long
list of companies. I suggest that you review the following pages to
see how to maximize your experince and satisfaction with Google
Answers. Then, I suggest that you either modify your parameters for
this question or greatly increase the price.
