Hi,
I am planning to host some of my products and services for e-com
business. So, i need clarifications on the below queries:-
First the Background:-
The portal company who has given me this work is planning to host a
jobsite with audio & video streaming capabilities, similar to webex with
live AV recording in flash of interviews/meetings & also IM support and
also they will be hosting a range of software products in the portal
like HR softwares, resume writing softwares etc.,the trial versions or
even full versions can be downloaded like Adobe/Microsoft. On an
average the sizes of each software is 320-600MB. They want to have
full support for affiliates, tech support, statistical reports
and complete ecom features (also supports Credit cards, debit cards, paypal.,etc).
My queries:-
a) The portal company is located in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia, so i need a
very reliable and long standing webhosting company with good
trackrecord or clientele. Who can support my need for unlimited
bandwidth, atleast 99.5% uptime, good backup system, good speed
needed for a ecom portal. I am keen on having a dedicated server and
my budget is between $1000pa - $1200pa for a PIV system with 1GB Ram
and 160GB HDD with Raid system. The company if it is Malaysian would
be preferred as i can walkin to have a feel of their company, as a
last resort even a overseas company is fine as far as they have a good
response time and great support team. Also i will need a good control
panel(international std, so ease of domain transfer is there) to
control the root of my server.
I have reviewed several hosting companies but was finding that not all
have same features, for eg; i have reviewed
www.shinjiru.com (They have good features, but alot of hidden charges
for backup/control panel etc, but you can own the server at the end of
18mths)
www.webhosting.com.my (They have also some features,but again alot of
hidden charges and they're expensive too)
www.pair.com (recommonded by a friend of mine, but their hardware is
old and they have fixed bandwidth of 400GB)
So, i am confused as to who has all features with a competitive rates
and meet all my requirements.
b) For e-com support i also looking for a good Ecom partner, i have
reviewed the yahoo merchant account it seems to be good as their
charges are low at 1.5% than local companies charging 4.5%, but i need
to know if there are any other reliable companies who make payouts
every week or fortnightly and again preferrably in Malaysia or i can
stick to yahoo, as they give me access to their market place as well.
c) The client has presently parked his domains with a US hosting
company, but they have inturn registered with several companies like
bulkregister.com, register.com the various domains. He has 12 domains
in total, so when i enquired they're unable to help me for easy
transfer of domains as they're sure which control panel they're using.
So, how should i do the tranfer apart from the normal upload or
offload.
d) Advertising / Affiliates:- The Jobsite is a free portal, so they
client wants to have his revenue for online advts,like google advts or
anyother advts company, so i need to know who're the best in this
suitable for a Jobsite or even any such sites with good traffic. They
should be a good market player. Also, i would prefer someone if they
also a scheme for setting off my earning with the search engine web
traffic spending i have to do for eg with google,
yahoo & MSN. But this isn't mandatory if they're two different
companies also it is fine as far as they give me great results at good
price and also give me stratergies to make money of my free site and
also drive traffic to my websites. I have heard about Google
Adwords and also their advt money making options,so i will need
details on that.
I have previously used element5, but they're good in Europe not in
Asia-pac region. So, i need a good advt mgmt company and also manage
my affiliates for the job site/products sales. They should also ease
in integrating them to my website or even work side by side with
element5 or others.
e) Also i need to know how to upload our trialware softwares in
download, tucows, etc., I will need the top 20 download sites to
upload my trialware products.
So, i hope that you will reply me on a step to step basis in detail.

good tip if the answer is in detail and i assure you of nothing less
