I am looking for a site in Southern California to run an impromptu
theater type event, similar to a SCA event (also known as a LARP).

The site needs to have the following:

-At least 40 acres in size
-Have hot showers available
-Kitchen / Dining facilities
-Bathroom Facilities
-Cost about $40 per person attending, or less than $2000 flat rate for weekend
-Available for use on a Friday Afternoon - Sunday Afternoon event
-Adequate facilities for the camping/sleeping of 50 people overnight Fri-Sun
-In a place that has trees (no desert please).
-Private, no one around will bother us except maybe the Ranger/Owner.
-Be located less than a 3 hour drive from Anaheim, California.
-Exclusivity of the site obtained with about 40 people.

-Have places to start a campfire a plus
-A few buildings to setup events a plus

I can obtain a standard liability insurance policy if that is a site
requirement. Most sites that I have found in the area are either to
expensive ($60+) or do not have the facilities desired.

When is the event? Specific dates matter on something like this.

Long term, I would hope to be able to run the event one weekend a
month, or bimonthly.

For the first event however I would probably run it in the Jan. or
Feb. 07 timeframe.

Darnog-ga,

The National Camp Association offers a service that matches people
looking to buy or rent camps with those who have them. I contacted
them and they do have several camps in the Southern California area
that might suit your needs. You might try filling out their form and
see if they can help you out.

Attempts to contact people at the site you suggested has resulted in
no replies. I'm back to square 1.

Darnog,

I contacted NCA on your behalf. I was unable to tell them what
information would have been on your request since "Darnog" was
unlikely to appear. At any rate, they said you should have received at
least a response from them indicating whether they could help you. In
my experience, it is unlike them to not respond. The server that hosts
their site was damaged about a week ago and has been in a bit of a
state for the past week. It's possible that your request was affected
by this. They ask that you submit your request again and put "Referred
by Hammer" in the Additional Information section.
