Hello again seeker868-ga,

I?m a happy user of Photobucket and I see that you recently got a
$10.5M infusion of funding. My research also shows that your recent
addition of video hosting capability has been tremendously successful.

My search strategy was to find conferences, trade shows, meetings and
expos that bring together companies in the social networking, online
publishing, Web 2.0 space generally and photo/video sharing
specifically. This is such a young field and there are so many players
jostling for position that it?s challenging to figure out the best
places to try to find connections in the business community in general
and sponsor opportunities in particular.

One approach would be to identify groups / companies / businesses that
are already using or planning to use photo sharing for commercial
purposes. The real estate industry comes to mind since they have a
need to share photos of their properties. You could identify other
industries and find their conferences for opportunities to make
connections.

A more broad-based approach would be to identify events where
companies and thought leaders involved with various aspects of Web 2.0
gather. I concentrated on this avenue and I?ve listed the results in
choronological order. Since I don?t know your strategy, I may have
included conferences that at first glance may not be of interest. I
took a brainstorming approach to help you spark your own ideas about
who are the companies and people you want to connect with.

Finally, I?ve also listed some websites for companies that present
multiple shows and events to help you continue your explorations.

I hope the information I?ve provided will be useful and that
Photobucket will continue to be wildly successful.

All the best.

Just when they had the Internet figured out, big media?s running
scared again. The power of participatory publishing has taken the
blogosphere from laughing stock to triple threat: First text blogs
knocked the wind out of the old world newspapers; then Yahoo bet big
on photo sharing by buying Flickr; iTunes has used podcasts to bring
back radio shows; now YouTube and a mob of ?vlogging? technologies are
pulling eyeballs away from network and cable TV.
