I'm looking for explicit instructions on how to do the following (excuse me
if I mangle terminology), in general:

Set up a VPN, with 1 client and 1 server.  The server is a PC running NetBSD,
the client will either be a Powermac or a WindowsXP PC.  The client and
server will be physically located in different states.  Each will be connected
to it's own router with it's own IP.  I have all the equipment with me
now, for setup and testing, and I have 2 IP connections.  I want to configure
the NetBSD server and one of the routers, and ship those off to my friend...he
should then be able to simply plug the router in, hook the NetBSD box up
to it, and shove it under a table and forget about it.  If there is ever a
power outage, he should be able to just turn the box back on, and not have to
hook up a monitor to do any manual restarting of anything.  I should be able
to, using my Mac (or PC, if I ever switch) do all my normal internet stuff, and
have it appear as though I am located at my friend's house.

I have:

1 emachines T6528
1 Powermac G5 quadcore
2 Linksys WRT54GS routers
2 distinct internet connections, both cable, each with their own cablemodem
a general familiarity with unix, macs, and pc's (and vi)
a general familiarity with changing router settings
an expert ability to follow instructions ;)

I saw exactly the setup I need once, but did not get all the details.  The setup
used openVPN, and I have a .ovpn file that was used, if that would be
helpful.

I'm comfortable with most hardware and software operations, but I want specific
instructions for each step in the process. Not instructions like "1. open the
cd drive. 2. put in the netBSD disk.  3. close the drive", but maybe
more like "1. get netBSD from here: <website link> 2. burn the ISO image. 3.
Install netBSD, answer the installations questions like this: etc etc".

This is the exact setup I'm interested in (NetBSD, openVPN, 1 client, 1 server), 
but I'll describe the end result I'm after...if you have modifications to
the above situation thats fine, but you should be able to, if nothing else, 
provide me with instructions for the specific setup described above.

I want to hide my IP, such that any external websites and programs only see
my friend's IP, and I am hidden.  I understand that there will be some
loss in connection speed, but in the setup I saw, it was minimal.  I need *all*
my traffic (not just http) to be routed through my friend's IP.  The programs
I'm running are installed on my computer, and I have no way of knowing what
system information they are looking at, or what ports are in use.  A good
example that might help would be an online game like Everquest.  It gets
installed on my computer, communicates with the game server, and who knows what
all they are looking at or able to see.  Most likely UDP communication is taking
place.  So pretend I wanted to be able to play Everquest on my computer, and
have them think I was located at my friend's house...thats what I'm after.

Main concerns:
1. Completely hiding my true location
2. minimal connection loss
3. no effort required on the part of my friend, or I should be able to easily
walk him through it over the phone.

Please only answer this question if you can do the above.  Google puts a max
of $200...I'm willing to pay more for this.  I'll pay an additional $200 ($400
total) to a paypal account or whatever, I need a quick answer on this.
