I am looking for help identifying quality software programs that will essentially allow me to create and maintain a personal knowledge database- where I can store information that I learn, or from web pages, or MS Office documents etc.- keep them organized- and then allows me to find the information quickly as needed. I'm impressed with the functions of Wikipedia, but wanted a list of other potential software solutions. My preference is workstation PC software, but am willing to consider other solutions. I'd like to use such a tool to create a personal knowledge database for 1 person, and perhaps also for a small team of 5-6 people. Thank you. |

MindManager is an excellent tool for organizing your personal knowledge. www.mindjet.com. You may also want to look at www.mindtools.com. Another products in the market for PKC are: www.webforia.com which allows us to clip and capture web pages and snippets. Other products are: www.thebrain.com (PersonalBrain) and www.visimap.com (VisiMap). |

Thanks Sam203-ga for your comments. Webforia sounds like a good tool for the web page captures, however I could not find it online anywhere to download. Any ideas on what happened to this product - perhaps it became another product? |
