I have a 1979 49er team football, which I have no idea how much it is worth. It was given to my son about 10 years ago. It has no papers with it. How would I go about authenticating it and finding out what the worth is? Can someone out there help me??? thanx, Lua | |

In addition to Montana's signature, it is also possible that you have O.J. Simpson's signature on there (as he also played on the 1979 49ers). There are a number of companies such as this one: http://www.spenceloa.com/index.html which authenticate sports signatures. Verifying the authenticity of the signatures will invariably increase the value of the item. The problem is that such services are generally somewhat expensive. My first step would be to visit some local sports memorabilia/baseball card shops or such a convention (if one is in town) to see what they say. This might give you an idea of whether it would be worthwhile to have it authenticated. I hope this helps. Have a good day. |
