I am trying to find the name of a movie my wife and I saw on a trip we
took while dating. The movie was about a very stern father and
daughter who lived in the woods. The father cuts down a tree and it
lands on the girl, paralyzing her. She ends up befriending a bird, I
think a crow. My wife was in tears watching the movie and I have been
trying to find it since then. It was being shown on TV at the time, so
I am unsure of the release date.

About what year did you see this movie? Are there any other details
you can remember? Maybe an actor or part of the title? Any additional
information, no matter how small, may help in this search. Thanks.

"Heidi" lived with her grandfather and was in a wheel chair. Probably
a few versions of that around.

Heidi was not in a wheelchair. She was sent to live with another
little girl named Clara who was in a wheelchair.

It was a long time ago, was the grandfather part right? Did Clara have blond hair?
