The National Archives of Australia may be a good starting point, a quick search came up with: TYRRELL DAVID LAURENCE : Service Number - VX131970 : Date of birth - 13 Dec 1915 : Place of birth - CARLTON VIC : Place of enlistment - GLEN INNES NSW : Next of Kin - TYRRELL VERONICA This pointed to the existence of the original "Personnel dossiers for second Australian Imperial Forces ex-service members", copies of which can be ordered through the same site: http://www.naa.gov.au/the_collection/recordsearch.html Boris |
