Can you provide any further context? Rock? Pop? How old? Male, female,
or group? Etc. Any clue may help.

I believe it was a female singer . The words may have been the title .
I am not sure. I don't remember when it came out.

I have found several songs that reference Damien in the lyrics, but
none with that line. They are all rap songs, two by DMX. Could any
of these be correct?

Could it be "Let Me Let Go" by Faith Hill?

It has the lyric "I talked to you the other day"

I found three or four songs with the name Damien in the lyrics, but
those lyrics didn't sound much like what you described. Without a
specific answer to johnny-phoenix's question about music genre, there
isn't much for researcher to go on. Remember, especially on an obscure
question, which this is, the more information, the better the odds.
How long ago, what type, could the name be different but similar,
etc.?
