shaverin-ga,

CIMS is owned by Cendant Corp, as described on their website:

http://www.cimsglobal.com/
"Cims is part of the Cendant Corporation. The Cendant Corporation is a
global provider of specialist marketing services in the financial,
real estate and travel sectors, targeting both consumer and business
customers..."

Cendant used to go by the name CUC Corp, and under that name,
purchased Sentinel for $22.5 million in 1995:

http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/723612/0000950112-96-003312.txt
SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION
FORM 8-K
CUC International Inc.

"During March 1995, the Company acquired all of the outstanding
capital stock of Credit Card Sentinel (U.K.) Limited ("CCS") for $22.5
million in cash. CCS is a leading provider of credit card enhancement
services, which are generally marketed through European financial
institutions..."

I wasn't able to determine the exact start-up date of Sentinel, but
it's clear from newspaper mentions of the company that they were an
established business at least as early as 1986.

I trust this information fully answers your question. However, if
there's anything else I can do for you on this, please let me know by
