Many notable historical archives organize 20th Century history by
decade similar to the way it is done here:

20th Century History By the Decades
From the Chico High School Library

Is this the type of answer you're looking for?

Hello cadillaccubb-ga,

Whose history do you want to organize -- the world, a nation, an
organization, a movement, etc.? Please tell us more about the context

The best way to organise the history of the twentieth century is by
technological advancement, causes and results, as this is what drove
the century, no matter where you were. If you follow these
sdvancements, the rest of the history will fall into place. I hope
this helps.

I would organize 20th century history by themes... for example, major
political movements, like women's rights, racism, and major political
issues. You could also look at decades in the theme approach, mainly
covering the ideology of each decade. The 20's were very diffrent
than the 50's for example, while covering the changes in ideology you
would also be coveing, trends, technology, religion, work place,
ect... Hope this helps you.
