I think it might have been a lot but unfortunately this aspect of
history was overshadowed by the atrocities subsequently committed by
the Germans. I too would like to know more about this.

NO doubt some people did die of starvation in that period, but
apparently not in such significant numbers to make it a subject of
discussion from my failure to find anything searching in English and
German.  Also, I expect that I would have heard something about
starvation in those years if it had been a problem, having lived in
Germany for most of the last 40 years.

I do not believe that anyone actually diedof starvation in
germany.They were one of many coutry's who were quetly electing 
dictators of one stripe or another.Russia was gong about the great
social experiment, gernmany is about to elct A,.Hitler as chancellor
in the bundesreich WHILE ITALY chose the authoritarian ruler,Benedetto
Mussolini.This time period was horribly affected by the crashofv the
stock market in (1929) and Germany sufferred arbitrary demands (of the
treaty of versilles) that it could not reoccupy the major manufacuring
sectors intherhinand (along the rhuhr) valley which Adolh  Hitler
ignored and Germans everywhere love him for so doing. he was
aggressively thumbing his nose against the ,auslanders',
anyinterference from outsiders.in Russia"untold millions died from
Stalins pogromsand a lack of Food9tarvtion or siberia was ther
chooiceIn Germany things were different many thousands ofgypsysand
retarded(developmentally disabled) people were killed but they didnot
starve to death. They were shot orgiven lethal injections because of
their limited, biased, Eugenics movenments but don't raise your hands
up to god ands thank him for giving us insight and understanding,For
we nhad a eugenics movement that was gathering stem in both our
countris of which
