I am not an American citizen and a year ago while visiting the US as a
tourist I wanted to open a bank account in the US and receive a credit
card. I was told that since I am not american and I don't have a
Social Security Number this can be done at Bank of America. And so I
opened there a check account and a savings account (as security for
the Credit Card) and received a Visa Check Card and a Visa Secured
Credit Card (with a limit of the $ sum I deposited in the savings
acc.)
During this year I pay well before time all the payments due for the
Credit Card. As I understand - since I am non US and without a SSN (I
live in another country) my good record is not reported by the
bank/visa to the Credit Bureaus and so I don't gain any credibility
and good 'credit points'.
My question - Is that so and is there any way I can gain good 'credit'
history on the record in case I 'need' it in the future?
THANKS!

I'm sure banks are hesitant to extend credit to somewone who can skip
the country very easily without paying.

Well nelson - That may be true but is not the situation in this case
since I pay all payments on time and intend do do so all the time and
all I want is that this will be counted in my favour if any day in the
future I decide to live in the US. Say in 5 years I live in the US - I
will have to start building a credit from scratch if this good
behaviour so to speek is not counted.
Therfore I'm askung if there is a way that it will be counted.
