Hi Kilode,
I am not a Google researcher. However, as I am a social worker for
Welfare in Canada I feel I can respond. I have seen many effects of
poverty and its stigmas.
From my own experience of working with the " poor " and the
consequences of poverty, I have seen a pattern of generations
continuously relying on the social assistance system. From the parents
- then on to the young adult dependent .. all staying on the system
for a lifetime period.
The lack of supports & education appears to be a factor. Although
there are many agencies that want to help these people, most of them
do not want to help themselves...... its a lifetime cycle of reliance
on others.
Those caught in the cycle cannot seem to find the way out even with
other options...
We, in the social services field here, have tried to "break" the
cycle.. However,it seems that once it has started it is very hard to
break.

the psychological effects of poverty are depression, helplessness,
sense of giving up, resulting physical and sometimes emotinal illness,
dependence on government, and so the psychosocial effects on human
beings would be bunching together with others who have the same
problems, banning together to provide information to each other, the
need to live in an area close to needed facilities. It effects human
beings socially in that it creates status levels in the society,
creates anger (on all sides) and sometimes outbursts, and causes
government to provide all sorts of needed services.
