I am interested in creating a website featuring stock option prices sorted and displayed in a proprietary format I've created. In order to accomplish this, I need access to real-time option prices (both ask & bid) for the calls and puts of all major stocks currently trading in the US. My questions are: 1) Which companies, if any: a) license such real-time stock price information to individuals b) allow (or better yet, assist in) the manipulation of the data into my own formatting? 2) How much can I expect to pay (annually) for such service/licensing? Thanks! |

There used to be a 15 minute delay in these prices and stock prices. And because it was in a bid and asked format with a market maker declaring the price he/she would pay in a sea of traders or in a desert. A buyer/seller hopeing for a large volume trade was likely to get a different price than a small volume. You would also need real time pricing of the underlying security in order for the options to make sense. Transmission time delays are also a consideration. Still the closer you can get to true pricing the better the market works for everyone. |
