I've heard that, in the UK, over 60% of women sue for divorce. |

What I should have said is that, in divorce cases, over 60% are instigated by women. |

The other 40% are also instigated by women: advertently cleverly or inadvertently, but both resulting in the man's suing for divorce. |

They may instigate more divorces, but they still only get half of a man's assets. See - it's a fair system. |

Confucius says that, instead of getting married, it is better (and cheaper) for a man to find a woman he hates and then to buy her a house. |

I only know about my countary i.e. India. A traditional Indian woman never dumps her husband even if he happens to dump her. Once she is married, she devotes herself totally to her husband. So there is no woman dumping a man out here. |

In the USA, the figures run closer to 75 - 80% female instigated divorce, and this has been true since early 80's at least. In the overwhelming majority, the other man is on hand before the divorce is filed, though it is definitely non-PC to say so. I saw my own sister pull this stunt twice; once with a 42 year old man when she was 21, and once with a 21 year old man when she was 42. I do agree the question does not seem to involve divorce, but all relationships that end. I am not an expert on non-divorce endings, but listening to women at work before retirement, they at least believe they end most other relationships as well. |

Johanka, The statistic Irlandes mentions suggests that in 75-80% of divorces, the woman instigates proceedings, not that 80% of marriages end in divorce. |

No, almost 50% end in divorce. But it's very interesting to see that far more women "dump" men than the other way around. Then you can ask, why? |

It's very simple: women are NEVER satisfied. That's the way they're made. The problem is that they read too many magazines, etc. that fuel their desires. |
