I am interested in working or volunteering abroad for a year (I live
in America). I would like to work with children and communities in
teaching technology skills, and general computer knowledge. One
example of a program that I found is with the Peace Corps that allows
you to work with information technology in various nations

program is perfect, except that it is for a mandatory 27 months. I
would like to find something that is somewhat shorter, approximatly
6-18 months.

I've looked over the internet, but most programs that I've found,
especially longer ones have high fees that you have to pay to
participate. I am looking for something set up similary to the Peace
Corps where your costs are covered in exchange for your volunteer
time, as I have not been out of university long and am still paying
off student loans.

If there isn't a volunteer program set up like this then would like to
maybe find an organization that has a focus similar to this
(technology education and training), that hires students, or newly
graduated students for possibly short term jobs, though I would like
to focus on volunteer abroad opportunities.
