need credible, up-to-date reference for the following hardware
performance metrics for modern PC hardware.

typical latency to access:
cpu register (time to access the register and do something with the
data, like with the ALU or whatever..)
cpu l1 cache
cpu l2 cache
main memory
disk

i realize this is all hardware dependent - i'm looking for typical
ranges on typical PC hardware.
