Question ID: 731448
where can I find out information on new companies as they are filed?
I recently started a company ("Jekyll Island Ventures") and within 2
weeks of receiving all of the final paperwork, corporate seal, etc - I
received letters from law firms, services, accounting firms and some
others.

actionvance-ga,

Perhaps you can let us know a bit more about what you're after?

New businesses in New York register with the Secretary of State (as I
imagine you did). The entire database of registered companies can be
purchased from the Secretary of State, along with regular updates of
new registers. However, this is something that can generally only be
handled by a fairly large data management organization.

Are you looking for information on how to do this yourself?

If not, perhaps you would prefer information on mailing list houses
that sell lists of new businesses (for a zip code, city, state,
region, etc), either for all new businesses, or for particular types
of businesses, such as new restaurants.

Let us know a bit more about what you're after, and we'll see what we
can do for you.

Thanks,

pafalafa-ga

One of the companies we are involved in provides websites and other
interactive services to companies. Additionally, there is a division
that handles branding and identity. With that said, we would like to
be informed at a daily or weekly basis of new companies opening up in
the area. Our services, much like attorneys, accounting firms, etc
are pretty integral, so - this kind of marketing makes sense --
especially if we are introducing ourselves early on.
