Question ID: 731574
I am 30 years old and live in Dubai ? UAE. I was suffering from
financial problems when I finished my high school with excellent
score, so did not attend a higher education. I started working hard to
fulfil my needs, and developed myself by doing some courses. Now, I
have some money to do a part-time study, so last September, I enrolled
in a BA Psychology with Human Resource Management course at a British
university in Dubai. It is a campus not a franchise. I got 25% off in
my tuition fees, which is the maximum scholarship they grant, because
of my previous achievements in study.

I have got two main problems regarding my study:

Firstly, I am suffering from an extreme shortage of time ? although I
am doing one or two modules per semester but I am out of home for my
work around fourteen hours a day. Therefore, I spend my weekends to do
my readings and assignments. If I don?t catch up before the end of the
semester, I apply for a special holiday to do my assignments. I have
done very good and finished three modules by the end of this second
semester (one is compulsory for all students and two in psychology).
Imagine how long I need to get my degree when you know that I have to
do six modules in each level (year)! You know, the British system is
three years for a degree.

Secondly, I am really interested in psychology not in any minor
subject. This has been always my life dream since I was in secondary
school. A single-honours degree in psychology is not available in this
campus. To the best of my knowledge, no other university in this
country offers this course. I cannot really do a minor subject that I
am not interested in, while I am spending from my savings and suffer
from an extreme shortage of time.

I am looking for a scholarship or sponsorship that makes me able to
study full time BSc Honours Psychology in the UK or where a similar
system is applied. Please, tell me where can I apply for a scholarship
or sponsorship. I don?t want to try my luck be paying some sites some
money to get my name into the draw. I know my probability to win would
be something like 0.00001 or even less. If someone is willing to
sponsor me, I can guarantee that my dependency on them will be reduced
by getting high scores that will allow me to get the maximum of
scholarship from the university where I will be studying.

I am seeking financial help from any kind to do my degree in
psychology. Can you help me, please?

What if I put a paid ad in a newspaper in the UK or other country
asking for financial support? There could be some kind hearted people
who can help. Which newspapers can I contact for this purpose?

Have you thought of studying in Germany, where tuition in most states
is free (you pay only administrative fees). Naturally, you study in
German, but I am sure that an intelligent person would be able to
grasp the language within a few month, and get school for free.

thank you politicalguru for your comment. I have thought about
studying in France or Germany, but I am afraid I would not get a visa
because I don't have an amount of money that covers all my living
expences without working part time. Also because I do not know French
or German at all at the moment.

Anyway, if I can continue my study in English, it will be better.

Anyone reads this, please give me an idea.

Forget an ad in the newspapers.

Go to the library and find a copy of a UNESCO book: Study Abroad.

It lists felloships, eligibility and how to apply.

It is also a SEARCH TERM:

which gives you links such as
