Dear markabe-ga,

Here is a short, quick-time film of the item you were seeking.

It was thrown by the Dutch action group T.A.A.R.T. and the victim was
the Dutch finance minister, Gerrit Zalm. This is their web site.

?An indication of the anti-euro sentiment, Story says, was the custard
"reception" that greeted Dutch Finance Minister Gerrit Zalm, one of
the most avid of Eurofanatics when he opened euro trading in the
Amsterdam stock exchange on January 4th. Zalm was met with a barrage
of custard pies thrown by protesters upset with the plan to do away
with the Dutch guilder, Europe?s oldest currency (and one of the most
stable), dating back to the 13th century, and the loss of national
sovereignty. Recalled Story: "In the BBC broadcasts, you saw the hand
of a demonstrator coming up in front of the camera and shoving the pie
in Mr. Zalm?s face. And a few seconds later, as he was still
recovering from the first pie, another hand came up in front of the
camera and delivered another pie in his face."

There doesn't seem to be any sound.

Is there a downloadable clip with audio?

No, I have not come across one. I note that this occurred in 1999
before the internet really got going as a news source and archive.

Eurodollar? It doesn't mean what you think. It's just called "euro".
