I'm going out on a limb here, but could it be Aussie singer Tim Finn
singing "Made My Day"? It's VERY upbeat, and the second I read your
question the song came to my mind. It's from a few years back - 1983 I
think - and is off his "Escapade" album. You can buy the album on
Amazon.com I think. The lyrics of the song are as follows:
