Hello, I am developing software and I want to know how to research for software that will sell. SHould I do surveys - if so how and where and at what cost? Or is there another way. I am not looking ofr what the most popular software is, cause I can see that on download.com I just want to know what will sell very well in a non-saturated market. Thanks! |

There's really no way to research for "gaps" in the market until we know what your applications is. And even then, it's difficult to assess possible demand for software, which is a very fickle market. You only have to look at the history of HP, Apple and Microsoft to see that they really didn't set out to take over the world....it just happened to them. You've got the right idea in studying the market, and one place you could look is on consumer survey sites in the area of your application. As I said before, give us an idea of your application, and we might have a better stab at an answer Willie |

To answer your comment: I a thinking in the areas of onlime entrpeneurs, creative people. Maybe something that helps them come up with new products (info-products) or ideas, and manage those in a creative way. |
