Hi, I wanted to get a better understanding of how much revenue is made by the television rights for a film being shown during a specific time period. i also wanted to know about the advertising rates. For instance, if a film on a major network is shown during prime time what is the CPM for the film? What if it was a non major network? What if it was off peak hours? Im trying to get some estimations of how much money a station is getting in from advertising. I know that films often get paid a flat rate to use their movies. Nonetheless, there is a certain amount of viewers that the stations are expecting these films to bring in as well as they are expecting to charge advertisers via a cpm rate to make a profit. so Im really trying to get a better understanding of the numbers of this process and try to learn how much each viewer is worth to a cable or primetime network and specifically what an independent film maker or documentary maker can stand to gain if their film is highly covetted. |
