Hello lotto cyn He was five feet nine or ten according to a leading historian, this was based on studies of portraits painted of him during his life. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/08/01/print/main517223.shtml Hope this helps. p.s. there is also a life sized statue of him in Cape Cod, just be careful to explain what you are doing to passers by before you take his inside leg measurement !! I'm not sure if his height is available, but it might researchers might be able to make a good guesstimate based on what's known about others. David McCullough's popular book on John Adams may have some hints, particulary as John and Abigail were avid correspondents. Jeff Shaara's background to the novel "Rise to Rebellion" cites sources on George Washington as noting that he was 6'2" and 175 pounds as a young adult. As is well-known, Washington was very tall for the period. There's not much of physical description of Franklin by Shaara -- but at least Washington gives us an upper bound.
