Hi,

I got home from a business trip last night to discover that the closet
I store my photo slides had a water leak, and that most of the boxes
of slides were underwater. This must have happened a few days ago, as
already the surface is slimy and there is some mildew.

The slides are mostly 50+ years old colour slides taken by my parents.
Unfortunately, the flooded slides are the ones I hadn't yet scanned
into digital format.

Could you please do a little research and find me some links to
articles on the best way to salvage the slides? I've already separated
a few hundred and left to dry, but without rinsing them first, as when
I tried this, the slide coating simply washed away. I don't need to
keep them long term - just long enough to dry out and scan before
discarding.
