I have an idea for a new web site. The web site would be based in the UK sending a product to the UK only. I have a product that I believe people will rent from me. The site will be a very simple design, with only one product (at the moment). The product costs about £150.00, but most people only need it for a couple of weeks, so I was going to charge £20.00 for two weeks to rent. Do you think this a fair price? Delivery isn?t a problem as I would send it Royal Mail Special Delivery so it would be insured. The problem is when people have the product. How would I get insurance so if it was broken or stolen I would be covered? I was only going to send the product to the Credit Card card holders (how I will take payment) address. This way someone using a stolen Credit Card couldn?t get the product and do a runner. Is there clearing systems that will alow this? If the user keeps the product for more than agreed time, part of the terms and conditions they are signing up to would state that I will charge them for another two weeks. How would I make a further charge? Any one with experience in this area would be appreciated, also any things I could be missing |

the easist way is to sign up with paypal, you will have a script that you will add to your site, anyone with paypal account will be able to rent you proudect. about the time limit; you will have to put the user details and the time of rent and there paypal account in a database. in the database put your own code that calculate the time and if it pass the agreed time it will automaticlly charge there paypal account but you have to be sure that your database is secured that no one will hack it. if you dont want to work with paypal, go to a bank and sign a contract with them they will give you an account and every credit card that is used on your website will be checked forst by the bank if it is not stolen or anything, the money will be transfrered to your account. i recomend that in the terms that you will agree with your clients you put something that if the vroke your product or anything happened to it you will charge there credit card with the cost of the product |
