Hello again Johnne, I wrote to the Honda Sports Registry ( www.hondasportsregistry.com ) via the contact form provided here: http://www.hondasportsregistry.com/contact.php They kindly answered saying that their organization?s best estimates peg the current number at somewhere between 350 and 375 for all S cars including S500 roadsters, S600 roadsters, S600 coupes, S800 roadsters, and S800 coupes. Unfortunately, they do not have a more specific breakdown by engine displacement or body style, so they can't really tell you how many of those 350 to 375 S600s are. They did mention that S600 roadsters are by far the most common of the 5 variations. Their best guess is that they account for approximately 60 to 70% of that total. I hope the information provided is helpful! Best regards, Bobbie7 |

Engine displacement is the number after the "s", S500=500cc, S600=600cc, S800=800cc. The S800 was the only model to have a regular rear diff, not the chain drive enclosed oil sumps like the S cars before it. If you need more info I have a bunch of factory books etc.. The actual numbers are vague because the S cars were never sold here in the states, they were imported from japan, england, or canada. Alot of soldiers brought them back when their tours were over. I have seen two in person and they are cool cars. |
