I would like to know examples of 6 US companies which are wholly owned
and operated by either the US FEDERAL government or any of the 50
State governments. 2 to 3 of the companies should be owned by the
Federal Government while 3 to 4 owned by the State government.

The companies should report a profit in at least some yeard.

Mongolia-ga,

I am aware of at least half-dozen federal corporations.

There are tons of them in the states, and New York is widely
acknowledged as the king of the government-owned corporations. Take a
look at this page, for instance:

New York State public benefit corporations

The problem I'm having is with your 'profit' criteria. It would take
too much work to look into the individual corporations, and try and
figure out their quasi-real annual reports, to figure who does or
doesn't turn a profit.

Whaddya think...?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I was trying to avoid the Public Utility sort of company which is why
I put in the little "for profit" qualifier.

To give you a better example of what i am looking for , you may or may
not be aware of the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) which is
the only company which retails alcohol in the Province of Ontario in
Canada. It is owned and operated by the Government of Ontario and year
after year makes a profit.
(To be fair it has a bit of a monopoly as private retailers of booze
are not allowed in Ontario)

To clarify go ahead and give me an example of a New York owned company,
a federally owned company and a company owned and operated by some
other US state. Ideally i would also like to see the full revenue and
profit of the three examples for any year that this would have been
recorded. But if this proves too difficult to find don't worry about
it.

Cheers

Mongolia
