I believe the "melancholy hard-on of an angel" is by Paul Carroll. The
other one ("I'm not like insurance. I'm more like/ Suck it and see")
is by a Canadian author, and a Canadian with dual citizaenship, who
had been drafted by the U.S., Armny, and was beating it back to
Canada, gave my husband an entire volume of his verses--alas, this was
in Chicago, and the book has gone missing.
The poem with those lines (if it isn't indeed the whole poem) was
written before or during 1969, and the Canadian author was prolific
enough to have written an entire volume of poetry.
