Dear Friend of R Homb,

I have found one university offering a distance learning programme
titled "Bachelor of Aviation Technology" all other programmes are full
time campus degrees.

Would you like me to give it to you as an answer?

Would you want to fly in a plane that was maintained or flown by
someone who learned only over the Internet? Not me. Hands on is
better.

Hi

Have a look at http://www.directoryofschools.com/
As it says, "The Directory of Schools is designed for college and
university students seeking online degree programs via distance
learning schools", and it includes a section on Aviation (Under
Science and Technology).

http://www.qtac.edu.au/index.htm
Also Central Queensland University offers distance learning courses in
Aviation Technology
http://www.qtac.edu.au/Courses/courses/midguide2006/850875.htm

Hope this is helpful

I don't think Aviation Technology teaches you how to fly a plane, much
as learning Food Technology at school doesn't teach children how to
boil an egg.

Check out Embry-Riddle. They cater to the military and have excellent
accrediation and long distance learning plans.

the course is hands on, the theory is done long distance, and the
practical component is done at a local aerodrome with approx 200-250
hrs flying time over the length of the course, you dont get ur licence
unless you do the practical components :)
