I am looking for the source of the music in a new Delta Airlines
commercial. The commercial features Jeff Francoeur of the Atlanta
Braves. The commercial can be viewed at
http://www.delta.com/marketing/braves/ If someone could supply the
artist information or confirm that this is an original work composed
just for the commercial. Thanks!

This music somewhat resembles music composed by Karl Jenkins, who has
done other Delta commercials, and also composed the famous,
classical-sounding music used in many "A Diamond Is Forever"
commercials for De Beers Diamonds. I haven't been able to find the
name of the piece in the new Delta commercial, however, nor can I
prove it is Karl Jenkins. Just a hunch.

The music also bears a strong resemblance to that of Hortjur, an
Icelandic "New Age" musician who has released a number of instrumental
albums that feature piano/keyboard along with electronica. Since at
least one recent album (Uno) was recorded in Copenhagen, which is
featured in the commercial, it would be rather fitting if the ad's
score was Hortfur's music. (That's assuming Delta's PR people would
make the effort to do that kind of thing.) But I have been through
pretty much everything on his website and can't find an exact match,
although the music could well have been written specifically for the
commercial or might be from some B-side to a single. The ressemblance
to some songs on his site is pretty strong.

I emailed Delta on the weekend and this morning received an answer
about the music used for the commercial:

"The music is an original score that was created by Modem Media. The
music cannot be purchased anywhere and can only be listened [to] on
Delta.com."
