Hello, I am looking for more information on the legal concept of 'association d'épargne' in Belgium, which I believe to be the equivalent of the UK or US partnership. I am asking because I am considering joining an investment club which is set up in this way and want to know what I am getting myself into. From what I know it allows its members to share their interest in a project or business but it is not a legal person in itself like SA, SPRL, SC or SCA (see http://mineco.fgov.be/SME/Starters/NatPers_fr-01.htm#TopOfPage for basic details). It is also not an ASBL, a not-for-profit association. I am particularly interested in the extent of legal responsibility of the members, and whether there is a limited liability version as there is in the US and UK. Any reference to a specialised book or web site would help a lot. Many thanks. |
