I need some help with my law questions. Question 1: Adam Jr. tells his 19 years old son Adam Jr. that he will give hem $2000 if he does not smoke pot while he is in college. If Jr smokes no pot in college can Jr. enforce the promise against his father? 1- No, because he had a pre-existing duty to refrain from doing an illegal act 2- no, because it was a promise based on a moral obligation 3- no, because it was an illusory promise 4- yes, jr. suffered a legal detriment by giving up his freedom to do as he chose 5- Yes, as jr. relied on the promise and has fully performed his side of it Question 2 : If you sat down at a coffee shop counter. while you were reading a newspaper, the waitress poured coffee in the empty cup in front of her. no words were spoken. you drank the coffee and then started to leave the restaurant without paying for it. What is the best legal argument for the restaurant? 1- this was an implied-in-fact contract 2- this was an implied-in-law contract |
