This is my first reply so I hope it is what you need. You might be able to look at the gas cap. It will give an oil to gas ratio if it is a 2 stroke. I also found the following website where you can purchase an owners manual for 1986 Evinrude outboard. See below: (copy and paste link the below link if needed) http://www.selocmarine.com/cart/product_detail.cfm?item__code=1308&user_category= Johnson/Evinrude O/B - 1973-91 3,4, & 6 cyl Stock No.: 1308 Covers all 60-235 Hp, 3-cylinder, V4 and V6, 2-stroke models. Price: $36.95 |

General rule of thumb for most 2 stroke outboards. 50:1 mix. If there is oil in the mix, your motor will not seize. They will even run on 25:1 but will tend to blow a lot of smoke and the spark plugs may tend to oil up, there being excessive oil. But it will run. |

An extra thought! Some modern large capacity outboards have a separate tank for the oil component and the mixture is automatic through the carby. Its worth checking. |

I have a second oil tank it is supposed to mix itself but it is broken the oil alarm comes on so I want to know mix so I can just do it myself if all else fails. 50/1 sounds good, maybe I'll try 25/1 and if theres alot of smoke Ill do 50. |
