This is my first reply so I hope it is what you need.

You might be able to look at the gas cap. It will give an oil to gas
ratio if it is a 2 stroke.

I also found the following website where you can purchase an owners
manual for 1986 Evinrude outboard. See below: (copy and paste link
the below link if needed)

General rule of thumb for most 2 stroke outboards. 50:1 mix. If there
is oil in the mix, your motor will not seize. They will even run on
25:1 but will tend to blow a lot of smoke and the spark plugs may tend
to oil up, there being excessive oil. But it will run.

An extra thought! Some modern large capacity outboards have a separate
tank for the oil component and the mixture is automatic through the
carby. Its worth checking.

I have a second oil tank it is supposed to mix itself but it is broken
the oil alarm comes on so I want to know mix so I can just do it
myself if all else fails. 50/1 sounds good, maybe I'll try 25/1 and
if theres alot of smoke Ill do 50.

Is it a 2-stroke?
