Question ID: 734298
I have two related questions:
What are the 3 largest selling timekeeping systems (for tracking
employee attendance) in use today?
What are the 3 largest selling timekeeping systems used today in the
building/construction industry (ie. framing, roofing, painting, electrical,
masonry, etc.)?

Hi there,

I am having difficulty locating the specific ranking of the systems -
would it be acceptable to provide 3 systems that are clearly major
players?

Cheers,
Tox-ga

Hello skprew-ga,

I?ve been researching your question and I think it will be impossible
to answer it without knowing more about your needs. There are
hundreds, if not thousands, of timekeeping systems available. They
vary tremendously depending on the size of the workforce you?re
monitoring, the type of detail you need, the type of technology you
want to incorporate and how you plan to integrate the system with the
rest of your HRIS. I have not found any articles, market research
reports or rankings for time keeping or employee attendance systems.
My suspicion is that this information is probably bundled in payroll
or comprehensive HRMS market research reports.

Time and Attendance

My preliminary research on timekeeping systems for the construction /
building industries shows that there are a limited number of companies
that specialize in this area that tout special capabilities for the
perceived unique needs of the industry. It?s difficult to determine
which ?are the 3 largest selling timekeeping systems used today in the
building / construction industry? but sales ranking may not be the
most important criterion for evaluating these companies.

I also note that in one of your other questions you say ?We are
designing a new portable time clock ?? How does this relate to this
question about ranking of timekeeping systems? We might be better able
to help you if you told us more about the context of your question and
what you already know about the industry. My research so far shows
that this is a mature industry but there is quite a lot of activity in
the development and implementation of biometrics enhanced systems.

I?m not sure how to proceed. Please tell us what information will
satisfy your needs. The more you tell us about the context of your
question, the greater the likelihood that we can get you the
information you need.

I look forward to your clarification.

First off, I apologize for the delayed response.

I am one of the founding partners for Exaktime and we design,
manufacture, and sell the Jobclock System. Our target market is the
construction trades. I believe that we are the largest provider of
time and attendance systems to the construction trades and I would
like to state that is some of our advertising and collateral
materials. But, I don't want to just make an unsubstantiated claim and
that is the reason that I posted the question to you.

I really know of no other major players in construction although the
major names for timekeeping systems in general are possibly Kronos,
Timeforce and Clockware. The strange thing is that we currently have
6000 companies using our system with 230,000 employees being tracked
and in maybe 1 sales call out of 100 hear about one of our prospects
considering a competitive product. I am interested in knowing where we
stand in the timekeeping market.
Thx.
