I have been reading questions and comments dated July and Oct. of 2003
and Sept. 04 regarding flies living on the human body. I've been told
that I have illusional parasitis, even though I have proof (I've kept
these flies, which if thought were gnats) Is this still an on-going
problem with chelseamom-ga or bugkid-ga?

Icouldn't believe it when I found there were other people with what
seems to be the same problem I have and have had for almost 3 years.
I always felt like i had something in my eye, ended up with what my
Dr. thought was a virus. It didnt get any better so I went to an eye
doctor. The first eye Dr. told my that I had cornea infection,
(kera-something) It got so bad that i couldnt open or see out of my
eye. Then I started getting sores on my face and I knew it had
something to do with my eye problem. I went to an eye specialist and
he confirmed that my skin problem was connected to my eye infection.
He prescribed an anitbiotic (minocycline). My condition would seem to
be getting better then it would get worse again. I went to a
dermotoligist, he said i had dermatitis and prescribed creams and a
similiar antibiotic the eye dr prescribed. Nothing seem to help. My
granddaughter lives with me and contacted head lice at school. When I
was combing her hair to remove the nits I about freaked because the
nits looked just like what was coming out of my eyes. I called my eye
doctor immediatley and went to see him the next day. He confirmed
that I had lice in my eyes. He did say to be absolutley positive he
would have to tested, but it was probalby lice since my granddaughter
had head lice. One day while driving downt he road I felt something
in my ear and went to scratch it and a bug came out on my nail. It
was black and very tiny. After that I began to see these more often.
I didnt want to admit this to myself and was scared to tell anyone
else. I finally did go back to my dermotoligist and took one of these
bugs with me. He did not take me seriously, he merely said oh that is
gnat and it's not posssible it came from you. He diagnosed me with
Illusional Pararsitis (sp?) My family and my husband believe him and
they think that I am crazy or on drugs or something. mainly because no
one else is getting it. This condition is getting much worse. My face
ears, nose eyes and neck have these sores or boils. I can feel them
when they sting or bite me and I usually have a little black dot where
it bit me. I too have gnats flying around my head alot. I want to
sue the dermotologist because he should have done some test before he
diagnosed me. This has taken over my life and I am miserable. Has
anyone ever gotten rid of this type of problem before. I am so sick
and tired of this. Is there any help for me??
