At a wedding - how many glasses (or ml) of water will guests drink?

Sorry - I appreciate this wasn't very specific.

The wedding is in June in Northern England and we are expecting good
weather - there will be lots of other (alcoholic) drinks - mainly
wine. We have 120 guests. We are having the reception (sit down bit)
inside but it is preceded by a canape reception outside.

There is no answer at this time.

Wouldn't an answer to such a question depend:
- On the number of guests (mine included only my sister in law and our
parents. We all drank bubbly, nobody drank water)
- On the weather and time of the year
- On local/national traditions where you live
- On the availability of other drinks
- On the setting of the wedding (outside? inside?)

Also, is it mineral water - still or sparkling, or tap water?

This company in its drinks package provide ½ a bottle per guest. This
may be useful as an average consumption figure to work on.

A couple of buckets should do the trick but you can always refill them as necessary.

I read once that you should add 20% to the number of people you will
invite, so if you are inviting 100people, count 120, then have enough
for each person to have one drink every hour.
This should do it, but you might want to go with a little less if you
are offering something else to drink.
If there are other drinks, i would get about enough bottles of water
for everyone to have one, and if it runs out, it runs out.

The North of England, by gum, folks up there really know how to sup
but, if I know my fellow Northerners, it won't be water that they'll
be supping.

My experience in a different country is that a caterer or supplier of
drinks can be asked to have ample on hand but only to charge for what
is opened, be it wine, whisky or bottled water.
