Hello christopherpk-ga,

I can provide you with anecdotal sales figures (some of them are
contradictory) for total copies sold and evaluate the reliability of
the statistics offered.

I haven?t been able to find the UK information. I suggest that you
lower the price of this question and post a new question to get the UK
information.

Another option is for you to use the Book Sales Research Service from
The Book Standard. It?s based on the statistics from Nielsen BookScan.

The Book Standard Launches Book Sales Research Service
February 22, 2006

With the launch of the Book Sales Research Service, The Book Standard
is making available select Nielsen BookScan information on a
pay-as-you-go basis.

Through the BSRS, users can get weekly and year-to-date sales figures
for any edition of any book, from January 2004 to the present. For
each ISBN requested, the sales data is displayed by two major
channels: "Retail," and "Discount & Other," and also broken down based
on geographic region?such as the Northeast or the Middle Atlantic?and
"City," "Suburb" and "Rural" sales. The service starts at $85 for one
ISBN request; a volume discount means two titles can be researched for
$145, five for $340 and 10 for $600.

Please let me know how you want to proceed.

Hi

Unfortunately the Nielsen data that is available 'on demand' does not
cover the main sales period for FFN - being from 2001 - 2002 onwards.

I have some anecdotal info (especially for the UK). I think I'll leave
the question open for another day or so and see if there are any other
takers, thank you for the detailed response.

Chris

The only piece of information I could find was:
"To the surprise of nobody so much as Schlosser himself, the book sold
more than 1.4m copies. "
