Dear greenquest-ga; As per our earlier exchange I am re-posting the information here in order to officially close your question: I've read the claims - and they are many. However, Coca-Cola India vehemently denies the claims as false and "Malicious Propaganda" and provides what appear to be reputable sources to back up its defense of the company's practices. Coca-Cola India attributes decreases in water supplies to naturally occurring events and says "a small number of politically motivated groups have still chosen to target just The Coca-Cola Company, using the Coca-Cola brand name for the furtherance of their own anti-multi-national agendas." COCA-COLA INDIA http://coca-colaindia.com/water_management/approach-to-water.asp Who is reporting these claims? The India Resource Center appears to be one of the primary publishing entities reporting local interest in these claims. http://www.indiaresource.org/campaigns/coke/index.html It reports that studies conducted by the Central Ground Water Board in India have indicated that there is a significant depletion and are dangerous level of pollutions and toxins in ground water in and around certain villages. http://www.indiaresource.org/news/2004/1020.html Among others perhaps, some of the claimants appear to be: The village of Kala Dera, in Rajasthan in North India http://www.indiaresource.org/news/2005/2065.html The village of Mehdiganj in northern India http://www.indiaresource.org/news/2005/2064.html The village of Plachimada http://www.indiaresource.org/campaigns/coke/2004/heatison.html The Communist Party of India http://www.voanews.com/english/archive/2006-03/2006-03-08-voa61.cfm?CFID=16626193&CFTOKEN=39158013 The National Alliance of Peoples? Movement http://www.ens-newswire.com/ens/nov2004/2004-11-16-05.asp I hope you find that my answer exceeds your expectations.
