Question ID: 735902
I am planning on purchasing about 700 dollars worth of electronics
from the website ajok a.com . The only form of payment they accept is
a 'T.T Wire Transfer', so far they look like they are a legitimate
business but I just want to be sure. Do you think that I will be safe
going through with this order? They are based in Hong Kong, here is
part of the invoice that they sent me:
OUR BANKING INFORMATION
The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation LTD.
AC NO.******************
21 Nathan Rd. Kowloon branch. Hong Kong.
Beneficiary: 5M Technology (H.K)

Swift code is?**********

If there is anything that I need to clarify, please let me know.

Howdy spax-ga,

There are several things which point to Ajoka being a legitimate company.

If we do a "whois" on the domain of "Ajoka.com" on a website such as
DomainTools we find out the domain name has been registered for a while.
http://whois.domaintools.com/ajoka.com

Record expires on 27-Jul-2008.
Record created on 27-Jul-2001.

On the same "whois" lookup, we see their contact information there
matches that which appears on their website.
http://ajoka.com/Wholesale_Distributor_Manufacturer_China/aboutus.htm

On the above web page, Ajoka speaks to being a "sister company" of 5M
Technology.

A lookup on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website for
5M Technology shows that company is related to Shenzhen Zhongwang.
https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm

Indeed, if you look at the EC document from the Ajoka website, it
references 5M Techology and the FCC document is for Shenzhen.
http://www.ajoka.com/

I would suggest that you contact Shenzhen Zhongwang for references.

E-mail: ztv@ztv.cc

Ajoka also can provide a sample of their equipment, so you might
want to avail yourself of that assurance as well.
http://ajoka.com/Wholesale_Distributor_Manufacturer_China/shipping.htm

"We do not offer FREE SAMPLES but if you have shipping account with
FedEx, UPS, DHL we can offer selected items for free samples. for
samples we will never pay the shipping cost."

Even the Engadget website has covered some of their products.
http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=ajoka

"We can't imagine this works very well, but our spider-sense is
tingling at the thought of the Shooting Net, an air-powered gun
that shoots an umbrella-shaped net."

I also like that Ajoka has a photo from what appears to be a trade show
and that several of their products are "branded" with their name.

Various other searches did not provide any complaints about them.

If you need any clarification, please feel free to ask.

Search strategy: Examined the Ajoka website, did the "whois" process
and did some research on the FCC website.
