I am looking for my missing uncle Mr. Devendra Sahal - a prominent
scientist / author of 80s-90s. His references could be found on any
search engine either through one of his famous books "Patterns of
Technological Innovation" or through other links. Last known to have
left for UK in early nineties. Married Maria - Son of Dr. N
Sahal and Shanti Sahal from Jodhpur - Rajasthan - India. Help needed
on his exact location - current whereabouts - what happened to him. A
prominent international scientis / author - how can the world not know
about him.

Whew! This is a tough one!

I did manage to at least find mention that your uncle was born in
1949. That might help focus additional research efforts a bit.

I'll let you know if anything else turns up.

Thanks. Please do let me know if any clarifications are required on
this. He also had a daughter from Maria Sahal.

There is an N. Sahal still listed in the Jodhpur phone book. The N. is for Naresh.

Might this be Devendra's father?

I very much doubt if he's now in the UK because there's no trace of
him in a 2000 listing.

Moreover, he's not been listed as having died (in England or Wales)
between 1984 and 2004.

There's no trace of Maria either.

If I were you, I would write to his Publishers. They might know.

Here's a list of his books in the English Libraries, all from American
Publishers, the last one in 1982.

Hope this helps!

I checked the White Pages Phone Directory in Australia and found 2
listings for the surname Sahal.(Under Residential, nothing under
Business/Government) (Neither are the initial D however.)

If you go to this website and enter the surname Sahal in the family
name field you will see the 2 listings. It should be set for: State -
Victoria and Area - Metropolitan.

You can, of course, have an unlisted phone number in Australia.
