Hello myoarin-ga,

The source of the quotation? It just popped into my mind, so
thx1138-ga is the source :-)

Thx1138,
Credit where credit is due! I was a bit put off by the split
infinitive, but would have said it the same way. Kind of a pity that
you are not Cicero or Marcus Aurelius or someone else whose name would
impress the world outside G-A.

Please post an answer. It will get five stars for original work and
correct understanding of the question.

Cheers, Myoarin

Hello myoarin-ga,

Many thanks for asking to post the quote as the answer.

"Kind of a pity that you are not Cicero or Marcus Aurelius or someone

Oh I don't know, I'm quite happy being me, and as for impressing the
world outside of GA, well I can impress my five year old with my lame
magic tricks, I just wonder for how much longer I will be able to
impress him with them though :-)

Best regards

Thanks again. From my experience, you may have a couple of years
still to impress your son - but then ...! :)

Flipster,
Many thanks. Erasmus is a very nice reference. Checking him out, I
discovered a couple of more quotations by McGovern and one by Gen.
Westmoreland:

~
The military don't start wars.
Politicians start wars
- William Westmoreland
~
It doesn't require any particular bravery to stand on the floor of the
Senate and urge our boys in Vietnam to fight harder, and if this war
mushrooms into a major conflict and a hundred thousand young Americans
are killed, it won't be U. S. Senators who die. It will be American
soldiers who are too young to qualify for the senate
- George McGovern
~
I'm fed up to the ears with old men dreaming up wars for young men to die in
- George McGovern
