I have produced two songs that use samples of famous people making public addresses. One is of George W. Bush. The other is of Malcolm X. I would like to include both of these songs on my forthcoming album. I hear that it is legal use these samples without paying royalties because they are public domain. Can you find me proof that this is true? Thanks! |

The president's speech is most certainly publlic domain. He is an "employee" of the Federal govt. (although in his own mind, he IS the govt.). |

What a good idea Although they are definitely public domain, it would be an idea to do something mildly illegal - like distort the words - the publicity would be wonderful |

Haha trust me, with a guy like Bush in office, no distortion is necessary! Listen to the track here: www.thebeatcounselor.com/ThereIsNoHere/Surrealization.mp3 Cheers! |
