I suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder. Needless to say, I live alone and haven't had a relationship for years. I thought I was doing better, until one of my coworkers developed a cold sore. This prompted me to research the matter of herpes HSV-1 transmission. After reading about the rate of infection in the general population and the possibility of asymptomatic transmission, I wonder if I'm not gonna turn suicidal. From a simple fantasy, simply kissing someone has now become a strict impossibility for me. Assuming I can live with that, I'd like to know the infection probability from: 1. Sharing inanimate objects with an HSV-1 positive person: for example, sharing pens, paper, computer mouse, packaged food, door knobs, etc. 2. Shaking hands with an asymptomatic carrier Thanks. |

mgnairtvm-ga : I'm talking about HSV-1. Your reference is about HSV-2. |
