Hi Coverlea,

   I am not familiar with any photo restoration program that just
?fixes? an old photo, without some "elbow grease", or mouse grease in
this context! One must learn to select the areas of the photo to be
restored and work on them using the various tools that come with
graphics programs. Many photo programs will lighten, darken, and do
some fancy effects, but for custom tear, fold, and missing corners
repairs, I?d recommend sticking with the first three programs:

Paint Shop Pro
==============
Personally, this is my program of choice. I use this fairly
inexpensive program for restoring old photos and a host of other
graphics projects. It has a somewhat steep learning curve: meaning you
don?t just point and click? you need to match colors, learn to fade,
contrast, smudge, clone and use other tools. There are numerous free
tutorials online for learning this program.

Focus Magic
============
This is an interesting piece of software, that I did not know about
till now. It looks like a somewhat useful application, but to me, it
does not appear to be a stand alone program. It might make a nice
addition to other software.

Focus Magic "Breakthrough in Photo Restoration Software Technology
Using revolutionary technology Focus Magic corrects both out-of-focus
blur and motion blur in photographs. It works both as a Windows
stand-alone program and as a Photoshop plug-in for Windows or the Mac.
  Focus Magic works as a plug-in for Photoshop (including Photoshop
Elements and LE), Paint Shop Pro, PhotoImpact, ACD's FotoCanvas,
Corel's PhotoPaint (part of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite) and other image
editing programs.?
