Without any possible doubt, the best king of that period was King Maha Mongkut, also known as Rama IV, who ruled Siam (now Thailand) from 1851 to 1868. How many other kings have been immortalised in a Broadway Musical, etc., etc.? |

I can see that support for the British monarchy is in serious decline if an erstwhile member of the "Prince of Wale's own" and an erstwhile Bobbie both choose to pass over HRM, aka "Mrs Brown". :) |

Oh dear, Myo, I hate to disillusion you but Victoria was NEVER a king. Oh dear, Kleenloo, You have obviously been reading some antiquarian book and you still know nowt about our Royal Family. The Munchkins were little people in The Wizard of Oz. Of course, if we were to extend the 'til' date to 1990 then Elvis would be our man. |
