I'm looking for a comprehensive report on the Wire Services industry. 
This is the field dominated by Business Wire, PRNewswire and Market
Wire.  These types of companies take a press release and disseminate
it to multiple news agencies.  I want to learn as much as I can about
this industry - the competitive landscape, market size, and
particularly the mechanics of the business (e.g., are releases simply
emailed to publications, or is there some sort of proprietary
network)?  My company is considering offering this type of service to
our customers, and we're trying to make a build/buy/partner decision. 
I'm on the hook to get an education in the industry and ultimately
make a recommendation on what we should do.  I'd like to find a free
report if possible, not just a link to an expensive proprietary
report.
