Hi I have a peculiar problem in appearance of my eyes. Most of the time it's outer surface appears glassy and extremely shiny. It is as if a thick mirrorish film covers the surface of my eyes(you can see complete reflection of objects with vivid details). And Sometimes it's color turns cloudy silverish. My vision is no way affected but I become slightly photosensitive whenever these symptoms appear. These symptoms began only few years back. Initially it used come and go but now it is there almost all the time. Initially I thought it could be because of some sort of allergy. But I have taken various kinds of anti-histamines (for some other reasons; I have allergic rhinitis and asthma) and I never seen any of those medicines having any effect on my eyes symptoms. But once I was prescribed glucocorticoids(for asthma, once daily) and I saw complete dissappearance of the symptoms for 2-3 days But it reappeared after that despite I was still on corticoids(for additional 3 days). I do not have skin allergy. And since last year or two I never had any symptoms of asthma. I don't smoke nor take alcohol or drugs. I would appreciate if someone let me know the cause and possible cure for this. Thanks. |

Some free advice from an MD--see an ophthalmologist. |

I agree, you would probably save yourself money. And most likely eventual loss of sight. |

Congrats, you have cataracts. Go see an eye doctor for confirmation. |
